Challenges of sub-national governance for developing a coherent food strategy

Wales has established a distinctive ‘nexus’ approach to agricultural, environmental  and farming policy over recent years within the framework of the EU regulations and its own Welsh legislation.  This has featured a strong strand of co-design with a wide range of agents and so provides a strong basis for future working. Further progress will depend on the nature of the post-Brexit settlement within the UK and the final form of arrangements with the EU and other trading partners.
