Marie Quinney holds a BA (hons) Geography and Spanish from the University of Leeds and a MSc Environment and Development from the London School of Economics, during which she specialised in environmental policy and poverty. Her MSc dissertation focused on the psychological aspects of poverty and environmental deprivation in Cali, Colombia. After finishing her studies, Marie acquired professional experience at the CGIAR research centre CIAT in Colombia, working with USAID on climate-smart agriculture in the tropics. This work included field visits to Rwanda and Bangladesh. At KU Leuven, she is now working on alternative food networks in the EU as part of the SUSPLACE programme.
